4/15 It is Spring Break, and I am working harder than ever. Between job hunting, student teaching minutia, and catching up on my hunney-do list, I am just beaten. If it were not for having to plan for the Congress unit in Government (yes, I will not lie, I am dreading it too guys) I would be wishing to be back at work!
I've seen a few of you around town this break. Brittany, you looked "lost on Layhigh" my friend. And a few of you have been observed driving way too fast on Chapel (you know who you are big dawg). I hope you all are having a good break though.
I will probably see a lot more of you over the next few nights as I venture to our newest local eatery with one thousand t.v.'s so I can watch the Penguins destroy the Flyers in 4 games!

I think I'll head out to my front porch and rock the rest of the day away.

4/11 Taste of Ross: I loved this. We never had anything like this when I was in high school. I bought a hot pretzel, Ross Mud Pie (too good to sit still and eat), and visited the fellows down at the shop to check out the dune buggy. It was a good day, nice ending before Spring Break. I bought too many tickets though s anyone who saw me after that, who was a student of mine, got a few tickets slipped their way. The Dune Buggy is really just beyond words. That whole shop is just superclass.

4/10 I have been to three different baseball games and a Ramball game. I brought my little boy to the Saturday game versus Badin. We enjoyed it but wished the outcome would have been different. I also came and watched the Reserve and freshman teams plays Norwood after first seeing the ladies do their best with one of the top pitchers in the city. The girl from Madison was just sick. I liked the girls game more than I thought I would. It was my first women's fastpitch softball game ever. It will not be my last. The girls and guys are well coached. I will be returning to more games this year as they are a blast.

I still need to see the track team, tennis team, and the various band and arts groups perform. I will attend the next drama production also. I think it is "you're a good man Charlie Brown?"

3/7 Father of the Bride Review

3/6 I took over Senior Government teaching duties today. I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to researching the citizenship portion of the 14th Amendment and then teaching it. I imagine immigration will be a topic that spurs discussion.

3/6- Here is a link to the inflation calculator we discussed in class today:

I won't ruin the surprise but 1943 $5000 would be a lot of money in 2009.

3/6 Headed to the play tonight, Father of the Bride.

3/4 Well, I start teaching this Friday the 6th. I will be teaching the 14th Amendment, Equal Protection and then leading into Citizenship.

3/4 I am going to go to the play Friday night as long as I do not get called into work at my "paying gig." Father of the Bride Student Teacher Reviews will be submitted if I go.

3/4 Don't Forget the OGT's are coming up.

Interesting random pic of Atlanta, 1920's.
Notice the traffic tower. The overhead wires were for Street cars. Oddly enough the first streetlight was used in Cleveland, Ohio. If you like this era of cars, Fairfield and Hamilton put on a great antique car parade at the end of July every year. It has numerous model T's, Model A's, and other sedans from the era that actually drive in the parade.
